      But alas Sir, the base installation will not complete... :-( If I kill the TS 9.1 install at the "registering COM servers" and try to install again, it says there is already an existing installation folder. On the other hand, if I don't kill the TS 9.1 installation at the "registering COM servers" point, it always rolls back the installation and deletes almost everything that was installed. I am stuck both ways. Yours Maurizio

      Yes Sir, I have tried this several times also. I kill the TS 9.1 installation from Task Manager at around the "Registering COM servers" point, then I check the TS 9.1 installation folder and it looks like all the programs have been installed (ORPlat.exe, etc)... even the TradeStation shortcut is created on the desktop. Then I try to install the Update 29 patch (via command line in Administrator mode). It gives the following error window message: "The upgrade patch cannot be installed by the Windows Installer service because the program to be updated may be missing, or the upgrade patch may update a different version of the program. Verify that the program to be upgraded exists on your computer and that you have the correct upgrade patch." Yours Maurizio

      I am afraid no luck Sir. I have done the following 4 times: (1) Launch installation of full TS 9.1 setup file under Admin. (2) Installation actually gets past "Registering COM servers" and as far as installing the strategies/pain tbars etc. Shortly after that point, it starts the rollback with no warning. I immediately kill the install from Task Manager just before this point. (3) I check installation folder of TS 9.1... seems like all program exe files are there (4) I run installation again of full TS 9.1 setup as Admin. It gives error message: "TradeStation cannot be installed in C:\Program Files(x86)\Trad eStation 9.1\ because an existing installation of TradeStation is present. Please select another folder to continue." It will not proceed past this point Sir :-(

      An additional note Sir - you say "Next, you need to run the installation again so that it still completes without error messages". After the 1st installation try (which I correctly aborted at the "Registering COM servers" message just prior to rollback), it will not let me do the installation again. It pops up a error message saying: "TradeStation cannot be installed in C:\Program Files(x86)\Trad eStation 9.1\ because an existing installation of TradeStation is present. Please select another folder to continue." I don't know how to proceed :-(

      Thank you for that Sir. I will continue to try as per your instructions, but still I am confused about what to do about QuoteRoom. The instructions say to install it from a file that looks like QuoteRoomSetup_ xxx.xxx.exe, but there is no such file. Do you mean that I simply just run the "Start_QuoteRoo m_ENG.bat" file? And if so, must I leave QuoteRoom up and running while I do the installation of TS 9.1? Yours Maurizio

      This is not an installation. The language changes to English in the program. I also encountered such a problem a couple of weeks ago in Windows 10. As it is solved, I wrote in the instructions. Read carefully.

      Unfortunately Sir, it seems that installation version of TS 9.1 is not working either. There is no installation version of the QuoteRoom (only some instantly executing versions of it) found in the "1_QuoteRoom" directory. There is a "QuoteRoom.exe" which when launched, immediately runs Russian version of QuoteRoom 2022.02. Also there is a file "QuoteRoom_2018 .4.exe" which immediately runs an older Russian version of QuoteRoom. But there is no file such as "QuoteRoomSetup _xxx.xxx.exe". So regarding TS 9.1 installation, I follow instructions and disable UAC and run as Admin. It goes through the setup process till it reaches a point where it says "Registering COM Servers". There it pauses for a while and finally very quickly rolls back the installation (and removes desktop TS 9.1 shortcut icon), then says "Installation Wizard Complete. TS 9.1 Setup Wizard ended prematurely because of an error". I click FINISH and observe what has been installed and it is only 4 folders - Export, Logs, MYWork, Program. Then when I try to install the msi update file (from admin), it says an error window "The upgrade patch cannot be installed by the Windows Installer service because the program to be upgraded may be missing". Sir, can you offer advice please? I am stuck :-( Yours Maurizio

      Hello Dear Sir, I have been having good success with TS 9.5 - thanks so much for past help! 3rd party ASCII data charts will load correctly and strategies execute correctly, but there seems a big "slowness" - maybe you know of a solution? To load an ascii data file of about 50 megs size (3 years of 5 min bars) can take 4 or 5 minutes sometimes. At upper left will say "waiting for data" and "waiting for attributes" alternately. Applying a strategy to the chart also takes long - it will say "Calculating analysis techniques and/or strategies" at upper left for some minutes. Similar with running optimization - status will show "Optimizing" or "Waiting for data" for quite long... but eventually it will all complete successfully. I have a feeling that because in TS "File" menu there is the option "Work Online" always checked on, that it maybe is trying to download data at the same time while trying to process 3rd party data, and some confusion or "interference" takes place... just my feeling. "DATA" light at bottom right of TS is always green - it seems no way to turn it off. Another thought would be if it was possible to "force" the cache of TS somehow to accept the 3rd party data - maybe that would speed up the data reading and loading. But maybe this cache is only for TS servers data use. What do you think Sir? Yours Maurizio

      Oh okay, I see. Given that you gave specific instructions regarding Windows 10 system ("On Windows 10, during the initial installation, errors may appear: "Unable to register servers", "DDE Server Window: TSInst10.exe"). ..       Dear Sir, OK I have turned my attention back to installation of TS 9.5, as I had a little bit more success with that one. I am now trying to re-install it and having a certain problem. I install the base installation file okay, but I have a problem now with installing the Update28. I run the file from an Administrator Command Prompt (same as I did before last week or so). But now, the installation goes almost to the end to where it says "Updating component registration" and then it rolls back the installation. This never happened before. Again, I am on the same Windows 10 computer. Have you ever encountered this situation with installation of the Update28 Sir? Yours Maurizio
